Pamekasan - The Department of Visual Communication at S.A. College of Arts & Science is proud to announce a Six-Day International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) focused on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, learning, instructional design, and educational evaluation. Designed as a community-oriented academic initiative and part of the institution’s broader commitment to knowledge-sharing and capacity building, the programme brings together an international panel of experts to support educators and academic practitioners in navigating the opportunities and responsibilities of AI-enabled education.
The FDP features six international resource persons who will contribute diverse expertise drawn from higher education leadership, instructional innovation, and applied AI practices. The programme reflects S.A. College’s commitment to meaningful outreach and professional learning, connecting local academic needs with global perspectives on educational transformation.
Day 2 (19-05-2026): “AI Tools for Teaching and Learning” delivered by Dr. Abd. Ghofur, M.Pd, Associate Professor & Vice Dean, Faculty of Education, UIN Madura, Indonesia. Dr. Abd. Ghofur is also a lecturer in Tadris Bahasa Inggris (English Education), bringing a strong pedagogical lens to the conversation on AI tools and their practical classroom use. The session is designed to help educators identify relevant AI-supported tools, understand how they can support lesson preparation and learning engagement, and explore how AI can complement not replace sound teaching practice.
As a featured international resource person, He contributes expertise grounded in teacher education leadership and English pedagogy. As a lecturer in English Education, Dr. Abd. Ghofur’s session emphasizes how AI tools can support effective teaching strategiesparticularly in lesson planning, material development, language-learning activities, and learner engagementwhile also promoting responsible and ethical use.
The session “AI Tools for Teaching and Learning” is expected to be particularly relevant for educators seeking practical guidance: how to choose tools aligned with learning goals, how to use AI to improve clarity and feedback, and how to maintain academic integrity while adopting new technologies. Importantly, the session reinforces that AI is most powerful when guided by human judgment, pedagogical principles, and a clear commitment to student-centered learning.
This Six-Day International FDP highlights S.A. College of Arts & Science’s role in fostering global academic connections and professional development opportunities.
