Pamekasan - The Research & Development Cell of the Integrated Institute of Disaster Management (IIDM), Tamil Nadu, India, in partnership with the State Islamic University of Madura (UIN Madura), Indonesia, is pleased to announce a 15-Day International Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “Innovative Teaching Pedagogy, Learning Skills, Research & Academic Publication”. This online FDP will be conducted from May 15 to May 29, 2026, running 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM (4 hours per day), and is designed as a 4-credit course aligned with NAAC requirements, totaling 60 instructional hours across 30 sessions.
The programme marks a significant step forward in Indonesia-India higher education cooperation and is positioned as a practical, high-impact follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between collaborating institutions. By bringing together resource persons and participants from multiple regions, the FDP aims to translate the MOU’s shared commitmentscapacity building, academic exchange, and joint scholarly advancementinto a structured learning experience with measurable outcomes.
A collaboration that moves from agreement to action
At its core, the International FDP is a model of how institutional partnerships can create tangible academic value. The programme is organised by IIDM (Tamil Nadu) and UIN Madura (Indonesia) and conducted in collaboration with Standard College, Manipur, and Biramangol College, Manipur. This multi-institutional format broadens participation, diversifies perspectives, and strengthens academic networks that extend beyond national boundaries.
The FDP is structured to support educators, researchers, and advanced learners in improving both teaching excellence and research productivitytwo pillars that increasingly define institutional quality, accreditation performance, and graduate outcomes. With higher education systems worldwide navigating evolving student expectations, digital transformation, and intensified publication standards, the FDP provides timely professional learning that is both global in outlook and practical in application.
Keynote spotlight: Dr. Abd. Ghofur (UIN Madura), Indonesia
A major highlight of this FDP is the participation of Dr. Abd. Ghofur, who serves as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan), UIN Madura. In addition to academic leadership responsibilities, He is also a lecturer in English Education (Tadris Bahasa Inggris)a role that positions them at the intersection of teacher preparation, language pedagogy, and curriculum innovation.
As a keynote speaker, His contribution is expected to reinforce the FDP’s central theme: that innovative pedagogy and research literacy must advance together. Contemporary teaching demands more than classroom delivery; it requires outcome-driven design, inclusive engagement, and evidence-based strategies that can be evaluated and improved. His academic profile combining leadership in teacher education with expertise in English pedagogybrings a particularly relevant perspective to educators working to enhance learning effectiveness in diverse contexts.
In the context of the Indonesia–India collaboration, The keynote presence also symbolizes the deeper intent of the MOU: not merely institutional affiliation, but shared intellectual work, strengthened academic visibility, and sustained cooperation through joint programmes that serve real professional needs.
Programme focus: innovative pedagogy, digital tools, and publication readiness
The FDP includes 30 sessions, each lasting two hours, spanning teaching strategies, research methods, data analysis tools, academic writing, and publication processes. Key pedagogical themes include principles and practices of higher education teaching, innovative teaching strategies, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), learner-centric approaches, experiential and project-based learning, Bloom’s taxonomy for learning outcomes, and assessment and rubric design.
Recognizing the rise of educational technology and AI-supported workflows, the programme also engages participants with digital pedagogy (online, blended, and hybrid models) and innovative teaching with AI tools, supporting educators as they adapt to modern classrooms and online learning environments while maintaining academic integrity and human-centered instruction.
As a collaborative follow-through to the Indonesia–India MOU, the FDP stands not only as a training programme, but also as a platform for ongoing academic relationshipsbuilding shared standards, shared methods, and shared aspirations for impactful education and scholarship in the region and beyond.
